About Us
Lando is on a mission to transform after-school education. We believe in the power of being in-person, especially for young kids. Our technology delivers classes kids love and after school care parents need, with interactions that pull students away from screens and towards each other.
In just a few months, we have grown to serve over 500 students a week across the Bay Area. Our seed stage startup is backed by top investors across consumer and education technology, including Maveron, Reach Capital, SNR, Ulu Ventures, and Black Capital.

What we're looking for
We’re hiring an energetic, agile teacher to work and teach alongside our co-founders. This individual will be teaching the latest classes we build, while helping us iterate on our existing curriculum and build new classes.
This role needs someone who is comfortable and excited about technology, has a great sense of responsibility for students in the class, and able to work well with groups of young children (Grade 1 to 5).
Classes are offered across the Bay Area.
Responsibilities
Teaching and operating
- Support the success of each class. Take on a variety of in-class responsibilities from teaching classes, operating early versions of our software, troubleshooting issues, and checking in students.
- Coordinate with schools and parents to plan our schedule. Communicate with PTA members to set up classrooms, communicate with parents to track attendance, and ensure the smooth operations of each class.
Curriculum
- Help improve current classes. As a teacher you have the best insight into what’s working and what’s not in our classes. Take notes and give actionable feedback to our product team to constantly improve our classes.
- Become an active part of new curriculum development. Build on our existing curriculum by developing brand new class ideas or new features that can improve the engagement and education outcomes of each class.
Qualifications
- A demonstrated interest or experience managing groups of young children (Grade 1 to 5) (e.g. volunteer teacher, camp counselor)
- A passion to talk with and delight customers, ideally with experience in customer-facing roles (e.g. retail, hospitality, sales, customer service)
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a love for organization
- Is excited to work in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable with making decisions in ambiguity, and has a strong bias for action
